Last week looked more like a city morgue than a buzzing writing group. While most of us were dealing with the plague, Mateo was off traveling the world and enjoying the sun (he’ll tell you all about it later), Terence was on a much needed holiday and Steph was fighting off all the semi-quasi Jonas brothers looking for a lesson. As such, be on the lookout for things to get ramped up here as we have an exclusive DJ Z-Trip interview on the way along with new fashion columns and a food review or two.
This weekend brought many smiles upon Canadian faces as many a hockey pool started, but more importantly is was one of our closest friend’s birthday.
John (aka DJ Dead Bird) and Tawny hosted their DOB’s party at Vancouver’s Bayside Lounge, which reminded me more of a cruise ship’s drinking lounge than anything else, but was a welcome escape from the cookie cutter establishments that are littered throughout the city.
The music was great throughout the night primarily consisting of funk and soul grooves, which complimented the comfy atmosphere and kept the good times rolling.
